Rich Jaeger, MPT, Cert. MDT
A lifelong resident of Wayne, Rich opened Jaeger Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine in 2001. From the beginning, his dream was to open a practice that provided high quality care in a friendly, energetic environment.
Rich earned a Bachelor of Health Science from Lock Haven University and a Masters of Physical Therapy from Temple University.
Prior to opening Jaeger Physical Therapy, Rich was the Supervisor of Outpatient Physical Therapy at Chilton Memorial Hospital.
Rich is a certified McKenzie Practitioner, which is advanced training in diagnosis and treatment of spinal disorders including neck and back pain. He is also a certified A.R.T. Therapist - Active Release Technique methodology. A.R.T. is a specialized technique utilized in management of all soft tissue disorders such as muscle injuries, ligament/tendon injuries, and neck/back pain.
Rich has 20+ years’ experience in sports medicine and fitness. He is extremely proud of the fact that many of his patients continue their exercise program upon discharge from therapy even though they did not exercise prior to undergoing physical therapy.
With his vast experience in athletics and sports medicine, Rich has become an expert at deciding when an athlete can safely return to sports. This question is often misunderstood and is a critical component in case management. Correct decision-making in this area has a huge effect on overall clinical outcomes and risk at re-injury.
Outside of work, Rich is devoted to fitness and wellness/nutrition. He truly lives the life he preaches. He also enjoys socializing with his friends, girlfriend and playing golf whenever possible.
Active Release Technique (A.R.T.)/Orthopedic Medical Conditions
Therapists specializing in A.R.T. use a patented, manual soft tissue release technique to treat painful problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Popular with runners and triathletes, this technique obtains quick results for anyone suffering from an over-use injury such as tendinitis/tendinopathy. We have A.R.T. certified therapists at Jaeger Physical Therapy.
McKenzie Certification (Cert. MDT) - Neck & Back Pain /Spinal Care
Therapists who are McKenzie certified have passed an extensive four part series of classes to practice a specific type of evaluation and treatment of spinal conditions. We have McKenzie certified therapists at Jaeger Physical Therapy and in addition, have therapists who have taken other multiple courses on this technique and have successfully integrated it into their treatment model.
The Kinesio Taping Method has taken the rehabilitation and sports medicine world by storm. It has become the gold standard for therapeutic and rehabilitative taping. This proprietary method of taping uses a uniquely designed and patented tape for treatment of muscular and joint disorders, lymphedema, and soft tissue pain syndromes. The method and tape allow the patient to receive the therapeutic benefits 24 hours a day with both comfort and ease because it can be worn for several days per application.

At Jaeger Physical Therapy, our goal is to get you back to living your life without limitations. We operate differently than other physical therapy centers because we give you one-on-one care with our physical therapists. To build a reassuring relationship, you will stay with the same physical therapist throughout your treatment program. We will help you move beyond your current injury so you can take your health and fitness to higher levels.
We understand the importance of educating you about what caused your condition and/or injury and will let you know how to prevent it from happening again. Once you have completed our physical therapy program, you will learn exercises to help you continue to strengthen yourself to keep your mobility, flexibility, and strength. During your one on one care, you will receive hands on therapy to obtain a faster recovery.
Our evaluations are from 1-1½ hours in duration. We see all new patients with 24 hours after you call us. We may even be available to give you an appointment on the same day that you call. We will do everything in our power to accommodate your busy schedule.
